In April 2009 a tooling manufacturer employed Zytec Systems ltd to develop PLC software and commission a new multihead drilling machine at there premises.
The drilling cell consisted of a jig where the part would be placed. Upon the cycle start a safety door would raise and 4 drilling heads move into and drill the part fixed within the jig.
The software was programmed within a Omron PLC, using Festo valves for the control of the drilling heads and door.
