.

In September 2007 Zytec were awarded a contact to maintain and support one of Lynx's distribution sites.

The existing system comprised of two sortation systems, with 50 destination bays and 16 arrival bays. The UPS and Lynx parcels were delivered by lorry to the arrival bays where they were unloaded and placed onto the sortation systems. The high speed system then transported the parcels to a 270 degree scanner system that read the barcode and proceeded to transport the parcel to the correct destination bay. Any misreads were transported to the Rework station where a new barcode to attached and then re-introduced into the system.

Zytec Systems was commissioned to provide maintenance support as Lynx & UPS were opening there new warehouse in Tamworth and their maintenance personnel were utilised at this new location. General maintenance support was required from tracking belts through to detailed breakdown analysis. Preventative maintenance procedures were also followed and maintained during this contract.
